Conference identity developed for the 2016 theme of Dare to Know.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At our TEDxUTSC event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a group.
The Challenge: Personify the brand of TEDxUTSC and translate its values into meaningful and persuasive promotional materials through creative execution. Develop an overall vision of design that will represent the external brand and look of TEDxUTSC and communicate the theme to their audience.
The Solution: Create a visual identity that is versatile and representative of wonder and exploration. The telescope was imagined to represent "Dare to Know" because it ties in themes of curiosity and imagination meanwhile also referencing space travel and venturing into the unknown. The logo is meant to invoke feelings of endless possibilities, and promote the courage to learn.
